If you would like to install Rivendell on your own hardware, we have simplified the installation process for you. After an initial installation of Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish, the Rivendell Broadcast Appliance installation script automates the entire Rivendell installation process. No special Linux knowledge is required, just download the instructions below and carefully follow each of the steps. We’ll guide you through the entire process.
Rivendell hardware that is configured using the instructions provided, using the specified Linux distribution and the Rivendell Broadcast Appliance installation script is eligible for technical support services offered by Paravel Systems.
CAUTION! Installation of the Rivendell Broadcast Appliance requires a dedicated computer. The installation of Ubuntu Linux will require that your hard drive be re-partitioned and any existing data on your hard drive will be permanently overwritten. It is vital that any existing data that needs to be retained be backed up to external media before beginning the installation! Paravel Systems L.L.C. is not responsible for any loss of data.

One or more of the following audio devices:
A 6000 series audio adapter from AudioScience is required to fully support all Rivendell features. The complete line of Rivendell compatible AudioScience adapters is available from Paravel Systems.
Livewire AoIP driver software. The Linux Livewire AoIP driver is available from Paravel Systems.
RIVENDELL BROADCAST APPLIANCE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE! Rivendell version 4 is a major upgrade and workstations running Rivendell v4 cannot coexist with workstations running Rivendell version 2 or 3. Migrating from Rivendell v3 to Rivendell v4 will require all workstations to be updated to v4 before they could be returned to service.
